Do you know how much wood one of these can hold, if built to exact dimensions in the plan? 1/2 cord? 1 cord?

We had to make it bigger than what the plans called for and modify a few things, but overall, your plans were crucial in how it turned out!

Hey Pete. I bought your plans off your website for this firewood rack. Turned out great. Thanks for your help.

So here it is! I couldn’t be happier with the results. I expanded the dimensions and I put spaces between each course of back and side and built a little shelf at the top for kindling. I think I am going to bring the sides and back all the way up to the top (another 2 courses). Just have to stain and seal it and off into the yard it goes. I’ll certainly call up the neighbors for help because it is HEAVY! haha
Thanks so much for the plans. Loved every minute of the build.

I would recommend using a semi-transparent Sherwin Williams deck sealer for this particular case as the project will be outside.

Great, thanks very much
Is there a particular sealer to use for cedar?

Hi James,
The wood itself will hold up pretty well in the elements. Stain will not do too much to protect the wood. Sealing the wood after you stain is the correct process and should make the project last a very long time.
Cheers!
