Hey Shanthi. I have already built the concrete top and was wanting to use hair pin legs and I just saw this and now i know it is possible. How big is your table and did you just drill the hair pins directly into the table? Thanks!

I got a used railroad tie for the base and cut out a slot for the center supports.

If you are going to make the table significantly longer I would suggest adding a center support so that the table top doesn’t sag in the future. To do this you could add another set of support legs in the center just like the existing sets. You could also design some other support underneath as long as it supports the center across the width of the table.

Hi Daniel! What triangle are you referring to? — So your total table will be 55 inches long correct? As for making the table lighter — I don’t recommend going thinner then 1 1/2 inches on a project this size. Sometimes I will do an apron around the perimeter to make it look 2 or 3 inches thick and use foam inside so the majority is only 1 1/2 inches thick.
