Thanks Trey and great ideas! I am planning on putting a ceiling eventually but I still need ready access to the wiring and pipes while I am working on the kitchen and upstairs bathrooms.

I would acid wash the floors and build a sliding-two way barn style door to cover the back end. That way, you still have access to the rear if you need too, easy on, easy off, if you have to replace anything back there. Are you planning on putting a ceiling in too?
