Just one thing;
Add to the lid, a deadbolt locking mechanism that latches the way door knobs do with the locking knob on the inside and the key on the outside of the lid. ( I think they still exist. ) Then, add instructions on the inside of the lid that instructs the delivery man to turn the knob and close the lid so that it locks. Easy way to secure your deliveries.

Or you could use an electronic lock such as the one amazon is selling for one time house entry but install lit on the hutch instead.

Ooh, you could even sell hutches with this feature and call them Amazon delivery hutches.
Darn, to bad I don’t have a wood shop!

But the deadbolt version will work for UPS and FedEx as well as Amazon.
