Sliding barn door adds an instant rustic look to the room & it’s quite practical especially for small-spaced areas. Though I may need a lot of help from my hubby to build this.

Hey John! I am not sure of the exact weight, but most likely in the 200 lb range. I was able to lift it on my own. Cheers

Hey Jesse! I got the steel from Pacific Steel and Recycling in Belgrade, Montana. It is priced high at places like Home Depot — and they don’t have the 2 inch wide size and anything longer then 6 feet. Have you checked with some local steel supply businesses? My 10 foot pieces were $10 / piece. Let me know what you find. I’m sure online prices would be high b/c of shipping and I would think locally would be your best bet.

Anywhere I can find 8′ sticks is about 2 times the price compared to your materials list. I also checked online sourcesas well. Please advise. Thanks!

Hey Dan! Haven’t had any issues with anything. I could have let the cedar dry out a little longer as I had about 1/8 of an inch shrinkage between the boards – but it looks fantastic and has held up great.
