It’s been a while since I logged in. I just finished the desk and had such a great time building it. I’ve been doing a bunch of other stuff including a decent table to work on. A big thanks to you for turning me on to a new hobby!!!

Congrats on finishing up with the project! I’m not a huge fan of fillers for the gaps, but when I do use a filler it’s commonly this one (and stainable) https://www.zoro.com/dap-solvent-wood-filler-4-oz-natural-can-21502/i/G3723036/?gclid=CjwKEAjwz4u9BRCbioK3stnBznESJADA75xbA0OVFRPD9F2ZkWmm_GPR6LH0ucbvkYFgSUXn8a5aVRoCYXXw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Just finished my I-beam desk and I love it! I have a few gaps here and there that I blame on the wood and the fact that this was my very first wood project. Nothing a little wood filler can’t fix. That being said, what wood filler do you recommend? I’ll be staining once I get the filler and sanding done.

Thanks!

Extending the base depth in proportion will work perfect.

IF I wanted to go one board deeper woould I only need to modify my i beam and bread board ends by making them 71/2 inchs longer?

Elie,
Thanks so much for sharing your information, I’ve never used the conditioner so I was wondering if it was worth the time and money. Looks like I’m going straight to the stain…can’t wait! Thanks again!
